Some newB questions regarding dedi servers

Posted by Laloo, 02-05-2017, 11:07 AM
I have extensive experience of being an amateur webmaster and hence using shared/reseller/vps hosting but never tried a full dedi server. My sites are usually set and forget type, I never have to spend time in upgrading / updating sites or web hosting. I want to try a dedi server with about 500 - 1000 GB storage, cpanel etc. and want simple ddos protection. 1. What could be easiest and cheapest solution for backups, once a month or once every three months? 2. Can I get 1 tb storage with core 2 due or quadcore 1 gb port for under $30 WITH ddos protection? 3. Is it possible to convert dedi into a vps so that I can reduce cost of cpanel from $30 to $15? 4. Any recommendations for dirt cheap dedi providers with a least 5 years in business? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Unfortunately if your budget is only $30 bucks per month, there is none that comes to mind.

You can run one big VPS taking up most of the hardware resources... You can find what you need probably at that price, but service may not be the best, and more importantly...you will forgo things like RAID. You would be far better off with VPS service in that price range on better grade hardware most VPS providers run on, rather than what you would get for $30 on a Dedicated Server. . .
