Managed Dedicated Server with LiteSpeed?

Posted by deanysus, 02-04-2017, 09:30 PM
Hi, Desperately need a good recommendation. After WiredTree was acquired by Liquid Web, it's nothing short of a nightmare. Servers are going down, customer support doesn't care. Can anybody PLEASE recommend some legitimate hosting for Managed Dedicated Server with LiteSpeed? Desperately need a new one. Been paying $250/mo on WT, but willing to go higher. Not looking for any shady, unknown, newbie hostings but rather known and established companies in the range of $250-$400/mo for a Managed Dedicated Server that offers LiteSpeed and good CS. Thank you!

@deanysus What kind of server specs are you needing? That might help on getting some recommendations. Any location needs?

My current setup looks like this, so anything above or at least the same would be great: 1 Intel S3510 120GB 1 1000GB SATA Caviar 2x 4GB DDR3 1600 ECC 1 Intel Xeon E3-1230 LiteSpeed, cPanel, fully Managed.

I highly recommend Centex hosting. I have a dedicated server with them and they are nothing short of amazing.

Do you have a location in mind? Europe or USA? In terms of customer service do you require phone support, or are you happy with just Support Tickets and Chat? What port speed 100mbps, 1Gbps 10Gbps?

You should be able to get a sever of those specs for $250 and better specs. the v1 E3 you have now is almost 5 years old now. You would think though that a reputable provider like Liquid Web acquiring them would keep things running well, if not better. I'd assume you want cPanel as well with Litespeed since I don't think WT allowed management without cPanel? I would strongly suggest putting an additional drive on the SSD and SATA drives if they are being used to host any of your websites or important data and putting them into Raid-1. If one of those drives fails, you'd lose all your data without Raid-1.

You mean liquidweb migrated your server to their datacenters and now they're going down and support unresponsive ? or your server still with wiredtree and support is unresponsive ?
