Since that is a very competitive market space, I don't believe they share their tools and tips to just anyone. That would be very bad for business. You will just need to look at software requirements and try some stuff out. Most likely will require you to spend to earn.

DUAL E5-2620v4's, 4x SSDs (HW RAID-10) - KVM Is what we're seeing (however, not a market we're interested in). CAUTION: you're entering a nasty market whereby your buyers who don't obtain their "Yeezy's" chargeback -- while also killing your IPs etc. If this is for a private deployment, then no worries

For "high frequency trading" type of applications, I would want to run everything off of main memory. Network connectivity will play a very prominent role. I figure an alternative architecture is to run using multiple smaller instances. The problem space seems to be like this: I go to the store front, knock on the door, the store has not opened yet, I get to loiter for a bit of time before I have to leave my slot and queue up again (possibly as the last one in queue, but not necessarily). Well, I will ask my friends to line up for me at various positions. Think Black Friday

If you run everything off your memory, what happens when your server dies or crashes and everything in the memory is lost. I would not suggest this method, just use a good SSD array.

Use multiple servers. Your software is, of course, on persistent store and properly backed up, so there is nothing to lose. Your app's runtime should just be loaded and kept in memory. The data your app uses should be cached and resident in memory and everything backed by a separate persistent store (not necessarily backed by disk)
