High IO wait but no process reported in iotop

The server has 2 SSD drives in RAID1. It is so sluggish now. Everything that involves reading/writing to the drive freezes. Here's my iostat And output of iotop Is it a problem on the second drive? I also got this error on the logs Is there anything I can do on my side?

Did you run a full smart test on this drive? What was the output?

Interesting that it has 100% utilization but 0 wait time. I'd try reformatting the drive and re-adding it into the array. If that doesn't help I'd take the server down and run the manufacturers disk check program. Most likely its a bad SSD though.

I cant run the test as yum freezes when I try to install the software needed to run the test Well the host said they are going to test the drives. So lets see what they will find. By the way is it ok to use different brands and size of drive in RAID? one of the drive is 128gb and the other one is 120GB.

Its not recommended since they have will different performance levels, but it shouldn't be enough to cause the issues you're having. The size does matter for raid since they need to be the same size to make a mirror, but in this case your raid just uses the smaller of the two drives as they are pretty much the same.

Sounds like a bad SSD. Like the other guy said, check SMART status.

If your server freeze, i would shut it down quick and go in single user do some testings. Good luck

They replaced the drive and its working now. Ive been scratching my head finding the reason why the services running on this server is so slow.
