Is the AppLogic just for the Bigs????

Posted by GusBouras, 12-21-2010, 04:58 PM
In the last 2 or 3 weeks, I have been studing and meeting the cloud products and searching a good solution for my desires. I search a mix between Cloud and Grid computing. I think that´s the perfect product. I took a look: openstack, opennebula, onapp, xenserver.. and others. So, I sent a email to 3Tera's sales department, asking the price of the product. And few hours later I received the answear. They asked what is my plan and timeline? A sent my answer and I waiting a new return, but nothing. So, now I asking: Is the AppLogic for everybody, or just for Big Enterprises? Do you know another product like AppLogic, that works like? (grid+cloud) Thanks..

Hello GusBouras, I saw your question about AppLogic and 3Tera and whether or not it is only for the big boys... My company has been an AppLogic hosting partner now for 3 years and to answer your questions, not necessarily. You may not know that 3tera were acquired by CA technologies earlier this year and as you might expect they kind of focus on the big Enterprise sales. However there's a growing number of service providers/hosting business (like ours) that offer hosted AppLogic Private Cloud and Public Cloud services based on AppLogic. This can provide a much lower entry-point in terms of cost for the 'smaller' guys. My recommendation is that you take a look at the hosting partners on 3tera's partners page and locate a hosting company in your country or region to ask them about the platform, costs etc. You'll see our business on that partner list: DNS Europe If you have any other questions about the platform or our services, just let me know! Steve DNS Europe Ltd (UK)

Go over to the OnApp site and request a demo, they will go through the whole system with you.
